Strategic Action Group's employee development approach is based on the belief that is a gift for a person to truly understand oneself as others see them.  In order to receive that gist, our process includes multi-source feedback.  Our employee development program has four key features that make its impact long lasting and extremely beneficial.


  1.     It fully engages the individual feedback receiver in the learning and change process, enabling them to modify their own current behaviour to greater alignment with the desired behaviours of the organization's culture, values and role competencies.


  2.     Our willingness to fully transfer the learning materials and processes to the client organization not only results in considerable cost savings but also enables the organization to become self-sufficient. Our approach is based on our distinct and strongly held value of “learning / teaching / learning”.


  3.     We work with your project steering and policy committee in a policy design session that engages people who are impacted by the feedback process, (both feedback providers and receivers).  This “policy setting” process has proven to be most valuable in gaining insight as to the critical success factors for the program.  As well, we an employee-driven policy will help ensure successful implementation. It will also provide understanding into why past experiences with feedback might not have been as successful as intended.


  4.     We have designed a development planning process that truly engages and holds the individual responsible and accountable for their action plan to demonstrate the desired behaviour more frequently.  These action plans specifically focus the feedback receiver on how to best demonstrate the desired behaviour that will enhance their capability to deliver on the business objectives. This development planning and follow-up process is the foundation for the success of the program.


We approach the above aspects in such a way because we believe that people develop and grow when treated like individuals and given the tools they need to succeed.  We believe in the inherent value of teaching, holding to the credo that, although supplying a starving person with a fish may solve the moment's hunger, teaching the person how to fish is of considerably greater benefit.  Naturally, if our clients prefer us to implement without being engaged in the learning process themselves, we are ready to oblige. Our determination to meet their needs in their real-world circumstances is paramount.


Our work in developing effective feedback systems has been greatly enhanced with the formulation of an exclusive Canadian alliance with PILAT-NAI. Together, we bring over 50 years experience in providing feedback tools to corporations’ worldwide. Our joint aim is to continuously improve the data collection process to ensure that both providers and receivers perceive the feedback process and results as benefiting from the implementation the latest and most useful technological advancements. Our data collection of feedback over the Internet ("360OnTheNet") began four years ago and has expanded rapidly in scope and security, helping such leading organizations as The World Bank, Air Canada, Universal Studios and LookSmart, a major internet services supplier, and BMW to meet their needs efficiently.


We have worked diligently over the year to find ways to continuously improve the data collection process ensuring at all time that the data collection is perceived by both feedback receivers and providers as Fair, Accurate, Safe and Trustworthy.  We have developed an approach to employee development planning that engages feedback receivers in a most meaningful way, to ensure that they:

  1. First, understand the meaning of the feedback,

  2. Second, learn to ask the right questions about interpretation that links the development plan to making them more productive employees, and

  3. Finally, have the confidence to take steps to actually do something about changing and sustaining change of behaviour to improve business results.
